WOMEN EXECUTIVES SPEAK ON COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

DSC_6281 St.Louis,MO – June 25, 2014-The Consortium forLeadership Development (CLD), presented an esteemed panel of astute, women, business executives at it’s 1st Annual Women’s Leadership Symposium. The purpose of the event was to Encourage and Empower women to Endure, Evolve, and Excel in this globally competitive marketplace. Research suggests that although women hold almost 52% of all professional jobs, they lag substantially behind men when it comes to their representation in leadership roles. The leadership symposium explored this phenomenon and discussed other relevant topics like how to maintain authenticity and succeed in un-friendly environments. Over 150 women and men gathered in the corporate theatre at Anheuser-Busch to gain insight and receive advice from panelists,such as:

  • Phyllis Anderson – Chief Marketing Officer, Express-Scripts
  • Rhonda Brandon – Senior VP&Chief Human Resource Officer, BJC Healthcare
  • Glenda Glover,Ph.D. – President, Tennessee State University
  • Sharon Harvey-Davis – Chief Diversity Officer, Ameren Corporation
  • Mamie Parker,Ph.D. – White House Consultant
  • Emily Pitts – Partner,Edward Jones
Toni Jackson, VP of Compensation with Peabody Energy moderated the discussion and asked each panelist to share defining moments and winning strategies. When asked what advice the executives would give their former selves, Sharon Harvey-Davis offered two profound words, adopted from Maya Angelou: forgive everything,” while Ms.Brandon agreed and urged the audience to consistently and proficiently “do your work!” The event was sponsored by Anheuser-Busch, Sav-A-Lot Food Stores, Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc., St. Louis Chapter and the Gamma Omega and Omicron Theta Omega Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
